This programme is entirely voluntary. A sponsor decides how long and to what extent they can sponsor a child. However, we suggest that a child be sponsored in stages, to help their development adequately and equally enable IFCN assign new sponsorship to the child.

There are five stages. Stage 1: 0-nursery 3, Stage 2: Primary 1-6, Stage 3: Junior Secondary level, Stage 4: Senior Secondary level and Stage 5: University.

You can sponsor as many children as your financial capacity can carry.

70% of your contribution will benefit your child directly. 30% will be used for care support and other administrative purposes for your child.

Our sponsorship programme is continuous and long lasting. You can make changes at any time. But because of our target to see that our children get the best from this program, we will immediately reassign your child to another available sponsor. But you will give us one month notice if you intend to change sponsorship. Also, when we discover that your child has become independent, we will notify you with the opportunity to sponsor another child.

It is possible to request some specifics of a child you wish to sponsor but this will not be on religious basis as we treat all our children equally. But you can request a State, gender, or age range of the child you wish to sponsor. Even if we do not have the exact details of the child you intend to sponsor, we will do our best to provide you with a match.

Yes, you can visit your sponsored child, but IFCN will have to be notified at least one month ahead so that proper arrangements will be made with your assigned child carer and the home (where your child is based). You will not be allowed to visit your child without the presence of the assigned carer.

Many of our children are found in motherless homes and orphanages. While some others still live with either their parents, grandparents or family members who may not have the financial strength to take care of them. We also have children found in the streets, most of which qualify for our street-to- school program. If we have any children in the streets who match a sponsor’s specification, we will enrol them into school and equally register them into any children home for proper care.

We try as much as possible to protect the rights of our sponsored children. Therefore, we kindly request that you do not release any information whatsoever about your sponsored child to the public or on any social media platform outside your immediate family.

Our role is only to connect you with a child that needs help and monitor the appropriate use of your sponsorship fund for the child. We are not into adoption. If you need to adopt a child, please kindly refer to the appropriate body in charge.
