About us

iFeed Charity Network is a Non-Governmental organization in Nigeria born out of the passion for the less privileged children- motherless, orphans, destitute, handicapped, physically and mentally challenged, abandoned, rejected, etc.

Our Story

iFeed Charity Network (iFCN) is an NGO founded to raise the consciousness for everyone to look out for the less privileged children within their surroundings.

The original idea was for everyone to have these children in mind every day, and visit them on a regular basis, adding them to the list of their extended family members.

According to the founder, Fidelis Chinagorom (Public Health scientist and humanitarian), the whole essence of this charity organization is for friends and mutual friends on social media and beyond to have little savings for the less privileged among us.

In 2018, the first episode of the operation feeding 50,000 children (OF50kC) was launched. This project had since then been carried out on the 27th of May each year during children's day, a day children are celebrated for their values and worth in the society. IFCN chose this day to celebrate with the orphans, motherless, abandoned kids, disabled, physically and mentally challenged, destitute and street kids.

Other episodes (2019, 2020, 2021 and more) have been successful in subsequent years, and in all the States across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, iFCN was not locked out, while many families and companies were shut down due to the ravaging coronavirus, we were able to still carry out this project in about 17 States across the country, supporting and visiting many homes and vulnerable children with all forms of food items. The same year, we were officially registered with the cooperate affairs commission (CAC).

Currently, iFCN is not just in the business of providing food only on 27th May annually to the less privileged children but has expanded to impact other various aspects of the child's life.

THE LESS PRIVILEGED CHILDREN (LPC)

The World Health Organisation [WHO] classified orphans and vulnerable children in 2005 into the following;

  • Children who have lost their parents
  • Children who are separated from both parents
  • Children who are living with caregivers with challenging health problems, disabilities, abusive behaviours, or addictions.
  • Children living with their parents but whose parents are unable to give them the proper needs for adequate upbringing.

United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS [UNAIDs] regards orphans and vulnerable (OVC) as children under the age of 18 whose both parents or any one of the parents have died as a result of AIDS [UN,2004]
