This Privacy Policy describes your privacy rights regarding our collection, use, storage, sharing and protection of your personal information. It applies to the iFCN website and all database applications, as well as any physical contact with us.

Child Privacy

We take the protection of children’s privacy seriously. Individuals who are under age as per the appropriate applicable law for the purpose of providing consent, should have a parent/guardian’s consent before providing any Personal Data to us via the website.

If we determine upon collection that a user is under age and has not provided a parent/guardian’s consent before providing any Personal Data, we will not use or maintain his/her Personal Data without the parent/guardian’s consent. Without such consent, though, the child/individual may not be able to participate in certain activities, including volunteering. However, in certain circumstances, we may maintain and use such information (in accordance with the rest of this

Privacy Policy and applicable law) in order to notify and obtain consent from the parent/guardian and for certain safety, security, liability, record keeping and other purposes permitted under applicable law. A parent/guardian can review, remove, change or refuse further collection or use of their child’s Personal Data by contacting us as set out in our Contact Us section, including child’s name, address and e-mail address.

Your Personal Information

When you opt to join in any of our projects, we collect information sent to us by your computer, mobile phone or other electronic access device. The automatically collected information includes;

  • Volunteer Registration Information- including data required to enlist you among our volunteers such as personal photograph, name, email address, phone number, religion, state of origin, residential address and state of residence.
    Notwithstanding the above, there may be circumstances in which other information than that indicated above will be necessary to update the already existing records. In such cases, you will be informed of the need to provide certain information, including personal data, with an indication of the purpose of its use.
  • Partnership information – data required from organisations that intend to partner with us such as name of organization, official email address, website and details with regards to the registration of your organization
  • Donor information – information required from persons donating for our standing projects, such as name, email address, phone number and card details (where the card payment option is used)
  • Sponsorship information - including any data that is required for you to start sponsoring a child’s education, such as name, email address, phone number, address, state and country
  • Email Newsletter Subscription Information: including any data required to subscribe for our newsletters such as name, address, phone number, date of birth


  • If you disclose the personal data of a third party in a form/questionnaire, direct relations, you will be deemed to have the consent of the third party whose data you disclosed.

    Your Personal Data processing will be limited to what it is necessary in relation to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.     All Personal Data collected are stored in systems based in Nigeria. We generally do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We take steps to limit access to your Personal.

    We will always hold your information securely. To prevent unauthorized access to your information, we have implemented strong controls and security safeguards at the technical and operational levels. This site uses Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) to ensure secure transmission of your personal data. You should see the padlock symbol in your URL address bar once you are successfully logged into the platform. The URL address will also start with https:// depicting a secure webpage. SSL applies encryption between two points such as your Personal Computer and the connecting server.     Duration of Data Retention

    We may therefore retain your Personal Data for a reasonable period after your last interaction with us or after you opt out of any of our projects. When the Personal Data that we collect is no longer required in this way, we destroy or delete it in a secure manner. In certain cases, we may however have legal or regulatory obligations that require us to retain specific records for a set period of time.

    Remedies Available in Event of Data Breach

    In line with Fair Information Practices we will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur:

    We will notify the users via email within 7 business days;

    We will notify the users via in-site notification also within 7 business days.

    We also agree to the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have a right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law.

    Governing Law

    This Privacy Policy is made pursuant to the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (2019) and other relevant Nigerian laws, regulations or international conventions applicable to Nigeria. Where any provision of this Policy is deemed inconsistent with a law, regulation or convention, such provision shall be subject to the overriding law, regulation or convention.
